Planting for Future Generations

May 8, 2023

Our employees find a variety of ways to embrace our core values. Here are a few examples of employees embracing our core value of stewardship: We positively impact our customers, communities and other stakeholders and strive to protect the environment.

A number of employees from the JCP&L service area spent a day planting trees through the Hunterdon Land Trust volunteer tree planting event. The mission of Hunterdon Land Trust is to preserve the integrity of the rural landscapes in the Hunterdon County region by protecting and enhancing natural resources, and the cultural landscape of the historic Dvoor Farm, for public enjoyment and education.

L.-r.: Kandi Dugan, planner scheduler III; Theresa Kolodzieski, clerk senior; Kim Foster, supervisor, Work Management; April Lamb, planner scheduler III; and Frank Fritz, supervisor, Work Management, are ready to work.

These employees volunteered at Hunterdon Land Trust in Flemington, N.J., to plant 350 trees. This was the second tree planting scheduled with JCP&L’s Green Team and New Jersey Women in Leadership Employee Business Resource Group to assist with Hunterdon Land Trust’s reforestation project. Between the first tree planting on Nov. 3, 2022, and this event, 700 trees have been planted in total.

Our group of Flemington, N.J., volunteers.

This diverse group of volunteers including management and union employees representing Engineering, Transmission, Environmental, Line Operations, and Substation and Planning planted 450 trees at Worthington State Park just north of the Delaware Water Gap in Warren County, N.J.
