Our Employees Help Inspire Local Students

March 26, 2024

More than a dozen FirstEnergy employees recently participated in the 2024 Junior Achievement Inspire event, which took place at the Canton Football Hall of Fame Village. The event provided employees from different business areas with a chance to showcase the diverse career paths available at FirstEnergy.

Through the Inspire program, middle and high school students gain hands-on career pathway experience, which is made possible by local corporations. FirstEnergy was the main sponsor of the event. Over 3,000 students from the surrounding areas are taught about career exploration and self-reflection in the classroom. Once they have completed their coursework, they attend Junior Achievement Inspire to demonstrate the skills and knowledge they have acquired.

Junior Achievement provides education on financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship to students throughout our service territory. The FirstEnergy Ambassador Network has supported local Junior Achievement chapters, benefiting thousands of students over the years. This is the fourth year they’re expanding the program.

Overall, 7,600 students will have exposure to the various FirstEnergy career paths through Junior Achievement this year.
