FEU State Executives
The executives leading our state businesses will have expanded responsibilities from our current presidents of state operations. They will be accountable for operational excellence and profit-and-loss financial performance as well as regulatory strategy and outcomes in their jurisdictions. This structure will foster better execution and customer investment at the local level, where it will make a positive difference in our communities.
Transmission President
As President of the Transmission business, Mark Mroczynski will lead the strategic direction and efficient operation of our FirstEnergy Transmission LLC assets – including ATSI, MAIT and TrAILCo – as well as those assets owned by KATCo. He will be responsible for profit and loss of the transmission business; directing our regulatory and policy strategy; building consensus and collaboration with co-owners and investors; and leading the Transmission organization to ensure FirstEnergy continues to accomplish our objectives.
Organizational Structure
The structure under these roles will continue to evolve as these leaders move into their new positions and they organize their teams. As noted previously, the structure under each state president will include a Vice President of Distribution Operations, responsible for the safe and reliable delivery of electricity to customers, in compliance with regulatory requirements and with an eye toward sustainability.
Over the next several weeks, the current state presidents will continue leading their distribution operations teams in their respective states. As we make decisions about the organizational structure moving forward, we are considering the experience, skills, capabilities and aspirations of those in the state president roles today along with our needs moving forward to determine the most appropriate roles and assignments for these well-respected leaders. Additional announcements will be made in coming weeks.
We recognize that employees across the organization are interested in understanding how these changes will impact them. Leadership is being thoughtful in reviewing and thoroughly discussing how we can better align work groups to support our new state model. We will share additional changes as they are finalized – providing as much information as possible in a timely manner to establish clarity for our employees. Stay tuned for leadership announcements and details in the weeks ahead as we make further progress on these important initiatives and our new organizational structure.
