FE Foundation Supports Food Distribution Following Storms

August 15, 2024

In response to last week’s unprecedented storms and widespread power outages, the Greater Cleveland Food Bank (GCFB) and its more than 1,000 partner agencies have been working hard to ensure that all individuals in our service area have access to food and resources.

Thanks to a $100,000 donation from the FirstEnergy Foundation, the GCFB is supporting the community in several ways to help our neighbors who have been affected by the storms. In partnership with the City of Cleveland, nearly 1,000 shelf-stable meals are being provided to residents at various recreation centers that have been opened as cooling centers across the city. Additionally, the Food Bank has packed up 2,000 shelf-stable boxes for distribution to partner programs.
