Promoting Equality, Allyship and Pride

FirstEnergy employees showed up in force along with family and friends to show their support for promoting equality at the Akron Equity March & Pride Festival this past Saturday.

The Alternate Current Employee Business Resource Group (EBRG) organized our participation as their signature event. The FirstEnergy Foundation played a pivotal role as a presenting sponsor of the event, further exemplifying our dedication to supporting and promoting diversity and inclusion within our community.

The fight for equality and acceptance is ongoing, here are some ways you can show your support year-round:

  1. Be an ally by actively supporting and advocating for the LGBTQ+ community.
  2. Attend LGBTQ+ events which help create a safe and inclusive environment.
  3. Donate to LGBTQ+ organizations to help provide resources to those in need.
  4. Volunteer. Consider dedicating a day to volunteer at a local LGBTQ+ homeless shelter, The Trevor Project or with the Human Rights Campaign.
