The Illuminating Company (CEI) recognized the safety excellence of the following work groups:

• Northern Region Distribution Control Center surpassed 17 years without an OSHA-recordable incident. Approximately 30 employees work at the facility.
• Meter readers at the Middlefield Service Center reached eight years without an OSHA recordable. There are two employees in the group.
• Fifteen employees in Lines at Middlefield achieved three years of OSHA-free work.

Members of the groups celebrated their safety milestones at separate events. “Whether in the field or an office environment, we must remain focused on avoiding the risks that contribute to safety incidents,” says John Skory, regional president, CEI. “We thank these groups for their dedication to returning home safely.”

Bargaining-unit employees at CEI are represented by Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA) Local 270.
