January 28, 2019
West Penn Power recognized the safety commitment of the following work groups:
- Thirty-eight employees at the Kittanning Service Center celebrated one year without an OSHA-recordable incident.
- McConnellsburg Service Center achieved one year without an OSHA recordable and more than one year without a chargeable motor vehicle accident (CMVA). Fourteen employees work out of the facility.
- Fifty-six Meter Reading employees marked one year without an OSHA recordable and one year without a CMVA. Members of the group are based throughout West Penn Power’s 15 service centers.
Kittanning, McConnellsburg and Meter Reading employees were recognized at separate luncheon events.
“We certainly appreciate the efforts of our Kittanning, McConnellsburg and Meter Reading groups to staying safe in 2018. We need to enter the new year with a renewed focus on following safe work practices on each and every job,” said David McDonald, regional president, West Penn Power.
Bargaining-unit employees at West Penn Power are represented by Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA) Local 102.
