Spread the Word About Our STEM Grants
September 10, 2019
FirstEnergy seeks to encourage exploratory creativity through our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Classroom Grants. And each year, teachers, STEM facilitators and hundreds of students throughout our six-state footprint greatly benefit from our program – which provides grants of up to $1,000. On average, we have presented $70,000 in grants yearly.
FirstEnergy is accepting STEM grant applications for the 2019-20 school year through Sept. 20, 2019.
“We are excited to support those educators who are encouraging students to expand their learning of the STEM subjects. However, in order to do so, they must apply for the grants – and that’s where we need the help of our employees,” said Torey Tolson, analyst, Corporate Affairs and Community Involvement, and STEM Classroom Grant program manager. “When you meet with customers, attend school events or academic programs in our service area, please spread the word about the STEM grant applications.”
