​Penelec recently celebrated the safety commitment of employees in the following districts:

• Somerset achieved 17 years without an OSHA-recordable incident. Eighteen employees work in the district.
• Richland’s 102 employees celebrated two years of working OSHA free.
• Clearfield marked six years without an OSHA recordable. There are 33 employees in the district.
• Philipsburg surpassed three years of OSHA-free work. Seventeen employees are based in the district.

Penelec Regional President Nick Austin presented the President’s Safety Excellence Award to the groups at lunch events. “It was great to get together with these dedicated employees to honor their commitment to eliminating the risk and exposure that lead to workplace injuries,” Nick said.

Bargaining-unit employees at Somerset, Richland, Clearfield and Philipsburg are represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 459.
