​Employees in Penelec’s Substation & Network group celebrated three years without an OSHA-recordable incident. A total of 102 employees work in the group across the following Penelec districts:

• Altoona
• Clearfield
• Erie
• Indiana
• Johnstown
• Lewistown
• Oil City
• Towanda
• Warren

“I’m proud of our substation and network employees, as well as their supervisors and managers,” said Dave Huffine, general manager, Operations Support. “They understand the importance of identifying and controlling exposure in their work environment. Achieving milestones like this requires hard work and professionalism – and members of our group have shown both qualities in watching out for their safety and that of their coworkers.”

Bargaining-unit employees in Penelec’s Substation & Networking group are represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 459 or the Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA) Local 180.
