In Memoriam
December 13, 2021
We recently lost another member of the FirstEnergy family. Josh Hak, engineer III, in Mon Power’s Planning and Performance Management group, passed away on Nov. 7, after battling COVID-19.
“Josh was a good engineer and a great mentor to the young engineers in the Planning and Protection Section of Mon Power. He provided practical experience to accompany the engineers’ technical skills,” said Jim Kirby, supervisor, Engineering Services. “He was proud to work for Mon Power like his dad, David Hak, who also worked for the company. He will be missed.” Jim continued.
During this difficult time, our thoughts are with Josh’s family and his Mon Power coworkers.
Josh worked for Mon Power since August 2016 and in his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and coaching youth basketball.
Josh leaves behind his son, Mason Hak, and other extended family members. His family is working with FirstEnergy Foundation to determine the 501(c)(3) charity recipient of a $2,500 donation in Josh’s memory.
