Here are a few examples of our FirstEnergy Foundation dollars at work in the communities we serve.

Bradford County YMCA in Towanda received a $3,000 contribution. This donation will enable the facility to provide programs and services to children, families and seniors.

At the presentation, l.-r.: Jody Place, consultant, Regional External Affairs; Charity Field, executive director, YMCA; and Wendy Roof, manager, Penelec Operations. Wendy also serves on the organization’s board of directors.

Jody also presented a $15,000 check to Guthrie Health in Towanda. The donation will support upgrades and renovations to the Emergency Department at the Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital.

In the photo below, Marybeth Smialek, manager, Regional External Affairs (l.), presented a $25,000 check to Ainslie Brosig, executive director of the Erie Children’s Museum. The donation is for the “Full Steam Ahead” capital campaign supporting new, interactive, world-class exhibits focused on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math). The program will encourage kids to solve, create, collaborate and innovate.
