Our Harvest Yields Results
May 20, 2022
FirstEnergy’s 2022 Harvest for Hunger campaign raised nearly $193,000 and collected several hundred pounds of food, which is the equivalent of 1,348,543 meals.
“Each year, foodbanks are challenged as more local residents need their services – many for the first time ever. We are so pleased that our Harvest for Hunger campaign will help support these organizations which are the prime source of food for so many people in the communities we serve,” said Lorna Wisham, vice president, Corporate Affairs and Community Involvement. “In addition to the money we raised through our campaign, the FirstEnergy Foundation will allocate $60,000 to smaller foodbanks in our territory.”
Aside from the monetary donations by employees, the campaign featured numerous fundraisers and activities to help generate support. For example, the executive auction raised $6,605, and sponsorship funds from our Polar Bear Jump added nearly $6,000. We also received proceeds from the sale of 233 FirstEnergy Favorites cookbooks.
