A Jolly Good Time

January 29, 2023

What better time to bring good cheer than doing the holiday season? Employees in our Met-Ed service area did just that – and more!

Reading employees volunteered for the Community Holiday Wrap Party at Schlegel’s Park Field House in our Met-Ed service area. The gifts benefited the children participating in the Reading Recreation After School program and TLC Fore Reading – nonprofit organizations with a shared mission to provide quality recreation and programs to the youth in Reading.

(Right) Jeff Kunkel, advanced business analyst (l.) and his wife, Lori, volunteered as Santa and Mrs. Claus at Grings Mill, a Berks County park.

Mark Robinson, captain, helicopter, and his wife, Anna, were busy during the holiday season, volunteering for the Experimental Aircraft Association, Christmas-in-the-Air event. The event was created to take children on plane rides and expose them and their families to aviation. For the 2022 program, 265 children took flight.

Mark and Anna also volunteer for the Meals on Wheels program in Reading. “People are lonely and enjoy a smiling face and warm meal this time of year,” said Mark.
