Getting It Done in Jersey!

February 27, 2023

Our New Jersey employees enjoyed delivering FirstEnergy Foundation checks to local nonprofits. Here are a few examples!

Rich Rebisz, consultant, Regional External Affairs, presented a $5,000 FirstEnergy Foundation check to the Samaritan Inn in Sussex County. Samaritan Inn is dedicated to meeting the needs of homeless families by providing housing, food banks and education for activities of daily living. Our grant will be used to pay for 50 shelter nights.

Rich (r.) presented the check to Dawn Metzger, Samaritan Inn.

Rich also presented a $5,000 FirstEnergy Foundation check to the Sojihuggles Children’s Foundation in Sussex County. Run strictly by volunteers, the foundation’s mission is to raise funds to provide underprivileged children with basic necessities of life such as food, clothing, toiletries, diapers, shoes, eye exams/glasses and dental care. Our funds will help support a new mental health initiative.

Rich (l.) presented the check to T Love, who founded Sojihuggles.

Bob Flynn, consultant, Regional External Affairs, presented an $11,850 FirstEnergy Foundation check to Homeless Solutions. The funds will support the A Night in The Cold event in Morris County, where attendees sleep outside to feel what the homeless experience. Additionally, a portion of the check will support the shelter’s annual Women’s Day event.

With Bob (c.) are Dan McGuire (l.) and Stephanie Cicale, Homeless Solutions.

Bob (c.) also presented a $10,000 FirstEnergy Foundation check to the Interfaith Food Pantry. The funds will support the pantry’s Nutritious Food Program. With Bob, l.-r.: Shana Baer and Joanne Brashier, Interfaith Food Pantry.
