Celebrating Safety Milestones

The following work groups were recognized for safety milestones:

Ohio Edison

  • Marion – Thirty-four employees at the service center celebrated one year without an OSHA-recordable incident. Bargaining-unit members are represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 1194.
  • Springfield – Fifty-three employees in the group have driven one year without a controllable motor vehicle accident (CMVA).
  • Warren – Forty-five employees in the group have worked one year without an OSHA recordable. Union members belong to IBEW Local 1194.

Penn Power

  • New Castle – The service center achieved two years without an OSHA recordable and four years without a CMVA. There are 43 employees based at the facility.

Bargaining-unit employees at New Castle are represented by Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA) Local 140.

Met-Ed

The following service centers received the Directors’ Safe Driving award:

  • York – The facility’s 118 employees eclipsed the 500,000-mile mark without a CMVA in January.
  • Lebanon/Middletown – Sixty-six employees in the group achieved 500,000 miles without a CMVA in January.

IBEW Local 777 represents bargaining-unit employees at Met-Ed.

Penelec

  • Philipsburg – The transmission crew celebrated six years without an OSHA recordable. There are 16 employees in the group. IBEW Local 459 represents union members.
