Our employees have been busy supporting those in need throughout the community – with the help of the FirstEnergy Foundation.
West Penn Power sponsored the 2022 United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania’s Build-a-Bike event. Thirty employees volunteered to build 100 bikes for children throughout Westmoreland and Fayette counties.
The FirstEnergy Foundation sponsored SummerSounds in Greensburg. SummerSounds is a nonprofit organization that holds weekly concerts at various venues throughout the summer. Andrea Bortoluzzi, consultant, Community Involvement (r.), presented the $10,000 check to Gene James, SummerSounds.
Joleen Hindman, consultant, Regional External Affairs (r), presented a $3,000 FirstEnergy Foundation check to Leanne Lenz, Centre County United Way. The donation will help support the agency’s new diversity, equity and inclusion training for staff, board members and partner agency employees.
West Penn Power recently received the United Way of Washington County’s Chairman’s Award for Outstanding Commitment to Investing in Our Community. John Greenwood, consultant, Regional External Affairs, and Andrea accepted the award.
