Customer Shout-Out: Potomac Edison

A couple in Maryland recently submitted the following message of thanks to a group of Potomac Edison employees and contractors who provided excellent customer service while installing underground cable in front of their home. We thank our workers for living FirstEnergy’s core value of Stewardship – positively impacting our customers, communities and other stakeholders, and striving to protect the environment.
My wife and I want to express our sincere gratitude to the work crews that recently replaced an underground electric cable on our street.
We were concerned when the work started because the route of the cable ran under an area that we had landscaped with trees, shrubs and mulch over 10 years ago. Many of the lots along our street had deep trenches dug to replace the old cable with the new one.
However, instead of trenching our lot, your employees and contractors pulled the old cable out and laid the new one underground without disturbing the vegetation above. Had the area been trenched, it would have destroyed the landscaping and ruined the aesthetic view that it provides.
In addition, the workers were respectful to everyone on our street as they politely responded to inquiries. Their goodwill was reciprocated by several of our neighbors who periodically brought snacks and drinks to the work crews.
Not only did your efforts provide our street with needed updated electrical services, but they also left us with a positive and lasting appreciation of your company and the employees and contractors that you employ. We hope that you pass along our words and feelings to all that were involved with the project.
