Of the 13,000 registered employers in Northeast Ohio’s Summit County, Akron Urban League has selected FirstEnergy to be its Employer of the Month.
The March accolade is a testament to employees’ commitment to living out the company’s core values of Performance Excellence and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) within the local communities we serve – and our efforts to foster a welcoming, stimulating and rewarding work culture.
“We are honored to receive this esteemed recognition from Akron Urban League and grateful for the trusted partnership we have established with their organization in recent years,” said Pat Mullin, Acting President, Ohio Operations, and executive sponsor of the company’s Ambassador Network, which helps support diverse talent recruitment. “The Urban League impacts many lives with transformative career programs and services that FirstEnergy is proud to support and champion for the benefit of all.”
Akron Urban League plans to announce the accolade to its membership in an upcoming communication that will also promote job opportunities available in FirstEnergy Customer Service.
“This much appreciated mention will not only build our brand reputation but help us attract qualified applicants for openings at our customer contact centers,” said Emily Gibson, HR Representative III. “Our goal is to hire 100 new Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) this year to fill vital positions that will meet and anticipate customer needs.”
