FirstEnergy Employee Business Resource Groups (EBRGs) planned several volunteer events to honor Dr. King’s legacy and make a positive impact in our communities.

This year, the MOSaic Ohio EBRG members participated in the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service and volunteered at Kid’s Book Bank in Cleveland on Monday, Jan. 15. The employees helped sort and pack books, which would go a long way in promoting literacy among children in the Greater Cleveland area.

Kid’s Book Bank is a nonprofit organization that aims to provide free books to Cleveland area children in need. They work with over 1,500 community partners to distribute books to children and to smaller organizations like day care centers, preschools, churches, community centers, YMCAs, and more. The organization is driven by the belief that every child deserves access to books, regardless of their economic background, and by providing books, they aim to promote literacy and create a lifelong love of reading.

By volunteering at Kid’s Book Bank, the FirstEnergy employees have contributed to a great cause and helped make a difference in the lives of children in the community. We hope that this will inspire more people to volunteer and make a positive impact in their communities.
