FirstEnergy Educates Customers About EVs at Cleveland Auto Show
March 15, 2023
Employee volunteers from FirstEnergy’s Transportation Electrification Team staffed a booth at the 2023 Cleveland Auto Show to connect with customers and share information about transportation electrification. The team’s goals for the show were:
To demo and promote FirstEnergy’s Choose EV website as a helpful source for customer questions about electric cars.
To display and answer questions about charging and charging equipment.
To help ease range anxiety by sharing the current national public charging network map*.
Throughout the show, the team was able to demo the new Choose EV website on a screen at the booth and on iPads. Choose EV contains a wealth of information about electric cars, including a tool that allows you to view available car models and price ranges, calculate potential fuel cost savings, and understand the times associated with various charging options. You can also see if there are utility rates, rebates or tax incentives available at the Federal level or by state.
“We know there are a lot of questions surrounding electric cars and most people spend a ton of time online doing research,” said Lori Rader, director, Customer Solutions. “Choose EV pulls all of that information together in one place so that customers have a great resource to find what they need, whether they are serious about purchasing an electric car or simply exploring options.”
Clean Fuels Ohio and Drive Electric Northeast Ohio were also onsite at the booth to help answer questions. Drive Electric Northeast Ohio brought an Audi Q4 e-tron® to give customers a hands-on look at an electric car.
The team worked 270+ hours over the course of the 10-day show – meeting over 3,000 visitors and engaging in 1,000+ conversations. The show was an effective way to position FirstEnergy as a resource for electrification and gain valuable insights into what our customers care about when considering making the switch to an EV.
“I would like to thank our booth volunteers for their commitment to helping educate customers about transportation electrification,” said Lori. “We learned so much in our conversations and we will use it to help inform the work we do as we continue to define our company’s transportation electrification journey.”
