FirstEnergy Employee Earns Top Fundraiser for Charity Event

December 26, 2023

On a cold Thursday night, Frank Luna, Regional External Affairs Consultant, layered up to brave the elements on the MetLife Stadium turf. Frank would be joining hundreds of others for a good cause benefiting Covenant House New Jersey – youth homelessness.

The FirstEnergy Foundation was a sponsor of the event, ultimately raising about $1.5 million for youths facing homelessness and survivors of human trafficking.

Frank was one of the top fundraisers for this event. Raising over $21,000 for Covenant House New Jersey, Frank was among the highest fundraisers in the state. Since 2017, FirstEnergy Foundation has raised almost $13,000 for Covenant House.

This select group was invited to MetLife Stadium for the NJ Sleep Out and received a personal tour of the facility from NFL player Saquon Barkley, who experienced homelessness for a short time as a child.

Frank also serves on the Covenant House Asbury Park Program Board, where he volunteers regularly and helps coordinate supply deliveries for the youth who reside there.
