Ice Sculptures and Angels

​In addition to employees giving back to those in need during the holidays, the FirstEnergy Foundation lends a hand. Let’s take a look at a few charitable holiday activities in the Penelec and Potomac Edison service areas.

Penelec

The FirstEnergy Foundation contributed to holiday fun by sponsoring an ice sculpture for the Juniata River Valley Festival of Ice held in downtown Lewistown.

With the sculpture are, Gary Parzanese, retired line supervisor (l.), and Stu Miller, distribution technician IV (r.), with family members (kneeling).

A group of Towanda employees participated in the Bradford County Salvation Army Angel Tree project. Employees donated clothing, coats, boots, pajamas and toys. They provided Christmas gifts for 35 needy children.

​Potomac Edison

​Jeff Akers, distribution technician supervisor (l.), presented a $500 FirstEnergy Foundation check to Pastor David Ziler, Union Rescue Mission in Cumberland, Md. Each year, Jeff and his family volunteer at the mission preparing holiday meals.​
