January 8, 2020

Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) honored the safety commitment of 31 Lines employees at the Newton Service Center. Members of the group recently achieved five years without an OSHA-recordable incident.

“Working five years OSHA free is an outstanding accomplishment,” said Dennis Pavagadhi, director, Operations Services. “We appreciate Newton Lines employees for watching out for their safety and that of their coworkers.”

JCP&L also recognized employees in Meter Reading at the Washington and Phillipsburg service centers for reaching one year without an OSHA recordable. The group is comprised of 14 employees.

“We’re proud of our Washington and Phillipsburg meter readers for keeping safety at the forefront of their daily work tasks,” said Pat Mullin, who moved from director, Regional Operations Support, JCP&L, to director, Operations Support, Ohio Edison/Penn Power, on Jan. 5.

Bargaining-unit employees at JCP&L are represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 1289.
