Providing Holiday Support

February 2, 2021

Community support has many faces – there’s charitable monetary contributions and donations to nonprofit organizations, and there’s the unselfish act of volunteering time to help those in need. Here are a few examples of Penelec employees and the FirstEnergy Foundation doing both.

Penelec sponsored Central Bradford County Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Hometown Christmas Event, which featured a Shop Small campaign supporting local businesses. Our sponsorship provided shopping bags featuring the Penelec logo. Shown at a local shop are: Jody Place, consultant, Regional External Affairs (l.), and Cait Monahon, director, Central Bradford County Chamber of Commerce.

Towanda Operations Center employees supported a Salvation Army Angel Tree for children in need. Twenty employees provided coats, boots, clothing and toys for an adopted “Angel Child.” In the photo with some of the donations are two of our generous employees, Tracey Ferguson, advanced distribution associate (l.), and Katie Payne, administrative assistant.

The FirstEnergy Foundation donated $1,500 to Downtown Bedford Inc. for its Christmas lighting replacement fund. Downtown Bedford Inc. hosts several holiday season events that provide tremendous support for businesses.
