Recognizing Safety in Ohio

The Illuminating Company (CEI) and Ohio Edison recently recognized the following work groups for their safe work practices.
The Illuminating Company (CEI)
- Solon – The Lines group at the service center has worked six years without an OSHA recordable and five years without a CMVA. There are 19 employees in the group. UWUA Local 270 represents bargaining-unit members at Solon.

Revenue Operations
- CEI – Twenty employees in the group celebrated 12 years without an OSHA incident in July. Seventeen collectors are represented by UWUA Local 270.
Ohio Edison
- Akron – Twelve employees in Fleet Services celebrated two years without an OSHA recordable and 17 years without a CMVA. Fifteen employees in Meter Services were recognized for helping the group achieve 18 years without an OSHA recordable. Bargaining-unit members are represented by UWUA Local 126.
- Mansfield – Substations has worked 11 years without an OSHA recordable and CMVA. There are 11 employees in the group. IBEW Local 1194 represents union members.
- Sandusky – Thirty-three employees in the Lines group achieved 13 years without an OSHA recordable and one year without a CMVA. Nine employees in Substations were recognized for working 10 years OSHA free and 15 years without a CMVA. Bargaining-unit members at Sandusky belong to IBEW Local 1194.
- Springfield – The Lines group celebrated six years without an OSHA recordable. There are 28 employees in the group.
