Safety Excellence at Warren, Kinsman

September 13, 2018

Regional President Rich Sweeney presented the President’s Safety Excellence Award to employees at the following Ohio Edison service centers:

  • Warren – for achieving four years without an OSHA-recordable incident. The facility’s 69 employees also have not recorded a chargeable motor vehicle accident (CMVA) in more than 3½ years. Eleven Warren employees were recognized as members of Ohio Edison’s Quarter Century of Safety Club for working 25 years or more without an OSHA recordable (see photo for details).
  • Kinsman – for surpassing two years without an OSHA recordable. Twenty-one employees report to the service center – which has not recorded a CMVA in 4½ years. Two Kinsman employees were recognized as members of the Quarter Century of Safety Club.

Employees at Warren and Kinsman celebrated their safety milestones at separate luncheon events. “We commend and thank our Warren and Kinsman teams for showing their dedication and commitment to working safely – in the field and on the road,” Rich says.

Bargaining-unit employees at Warren are represented by International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 1194. Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA) Local 118 represents union employees at Kinsman.
