Ohio Edison recognized the safety milestones of employees at the following service centers:

  • Macedonia – for achieving nine years without an OSHA-recordable incident. Twenty-five employees work out of the facility – which also has gone nine years without a lost-time incident and more than 3½ years without a chargeable motor vehicle accident. Three Macedonia employees were recognized as members of Ohio Edison’s Quarter Century of Safety Club for working 25 years or more without an OSHA recordable (see photo for details).
  • Massillon – for reaching one year without an OSHA recordable. The service center has not recorded a lost-time accident in more than 2½ years. Seventy-two employees work out of Massillon. Ohio Edison also recognized 11 employees as Quarter Century of Safety Club members (see photo caption for more info).

“Working safely requires a daily commitment – from following the proper procedures to wearing the required personal protective equipment,” says Regional President Randy Frame. “The Macedonia and Massillon groups are setting a great example of this commitment for employees across our company.”

Bargaining-unit employees at Macedonia are represented by Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA) Local 126. International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 1194 represents Massillon’s union employees.
