Simple Ways to Save Energy and Money this Thanksgiving
November 23, 2024
If you are cooking Thanksgiving dinner this year, you can use less energy by observing these tips.
- Skip the preheat. For many dishes that need to cook longer than an hour, preheating the oven isn’t necessary.
- Cook more at the same time. Foods with cooking temperatures in a 25-degree range can often be cooked at the same time.
- Choose the right dishes. Ceramic and glass are best. They hold heat, allowing your food to cook at a lower temperature.
- Close the door. Every time you open the oven door the temperature inside drops by as much as 25 degrees.
