Potomac Edison presented the President’s Safety Excellence Award to the following service centers:

• Mount Airy – for surpassing five years without an OSHA-recordable incident. Thirty-two employees were recognized.
• Fort Ashby – in recognition of three years of OSHA-free work. There are 14 employees based at the facility.
• Williamsport – for achieving one year without an OSHA recordable. The service center is Potomac Edison’s largest – with 177 employees.

The service center employees celebrated at separate lunch events.

“Through their behaviors and actions, Mount Airy, Fort Ashby and Williamsport employees have shown their dedication to safe work practices,” said Jim Sears, president, Maryland Operations.

Bargaining-unit employees at Potomac Edison are represented by Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA) Local 102.
