Supporting Important Causes

December 6, 2022

From festivals to community walks, our employees are making a difference in the communities we serve. Here are a few examples.

A number of employees representing Met-Ed, Penelec, Potomac Edison and West Penn Power volunteered for the third annual PRIDE Franklin County event in Chambersburg, Pa. The FirstEnergy Foundation provided a $3,500 sponsorship. This year, 1,300 attendees and 75 vendors were on hand for the event.

A group of FirstEnergy employees, their family members and friends participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in downtown Akron. We also had a table of employee volunteers, along with Louie the Lightning Bug (Kristen Citarella, engineer IV), passing out fun giveaway items. Through donations and the FirstEnergy Foundation’s Matching Gift program, our team raised $22,269.
