Two FirstEnergy Employees Receive Recognition
September 23, 2022
Matthew Kopchick, analyst V, Enterprise Risk Management and Neil Nagy, analyst IV, FEU Reporting and Utility Billing, were recently honored by the Greater Akron Chamber for its 30 for the Future program. For 16 years, the Greater Akron Chamber has recognized young professionals who make an impact on the greater Akron region through leadership in their industry and community engagement. The awards event was Sept. 15 and included a networking reception and dinner.
“I was honored to be recognized for my community support,” Matt said. “Early on in my career, I felt a connection to people struggling with food insecurity and felt a sincere need to serve as a Harvest for Hunger coordinator and to volunteer at the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank. I would like to encourage others to be involved in the community. If you have more, determine how and where you can give to those who have less.”
Neil is also pleased with his recognition. “I just want to thank the Greater Akron Chamber for selecting me as one of the 2022 30 for the Future award recipients. It’s such an honor to join the ranks of these incredible current and past honorees, who have shown that leadership can take many forms,” he said. “As a FirstEnergy employee, Torchbearer and Akron advocate, I’m immensely grateful and excited to carry on the work!”
Greater Akron Chamber 30 for the Future recipients are based on several criteria, including their professional accomplishments, leadership and community service. Members of the Greater Akron Chamber and regional profit and nonprofit organizations nominated 90 leaders, with independent chamber committees selecting the 30 finalists.
