2024 Walk, Rock, Roll & Run Event a Success
Employees joined forces in early May for the Walk, Rock, Roll, and Run event in downtown Cleveland to show their support for the Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio. Together, the team raised over $17,000, surpassing their initial goal of $8,000. In fact, they were the top fundraising team taking home the Top Workplace Traveling trophy! The funds will support a new generation of students and future leaders, helping them embrace their differences and become advocates for inclusion and diversity in our communities.
Building Community and Awareness Through Mountain Biking
Employees Tammy Linn, Community Involvement Consultant, and Krissy Michael, External Affairs Consultant presented a $5,000.00 check on behalf of The FirstEnergy Foundation to the Black Water Bicycle Association. The funds will support the organization’s mission to promote the growth of mountain biking in the greater Canaan Valley, WV area through education, sustainable trail construction, maintenance and safety.
Penelec Employees Help Local Trade Students
Our Penelec employees are making a difference in the lives of local trade students. FirstEnergy mechanics Dean McKee, Neil Bumbarger and Trent Norris volunteer their time to help students at the Clearfield County Career and Technology Centers. They lend their expertise during the National Occupational Competency Testing Institute exercises, which evaluate local students ready to graduate and enter the field of diesel mechanics.
