Women in Leadership NJ Gives Back to Community

November 17, 2024

A team of dedicated volunteers from Women in Leadership (WIL) NJ devoted their afternoon to supporting the Interfaith Food Pantry in Morris County, NJ.

This large operation is crucial in serving the community, aiding approximately 1,500 families each month – translating to about 10,000 people benefiting from their outreach programs and free food initiatives.

The need for support has never been greater, Interfaith has reported a staggering 30% increase in the number of people served compared to last year.

In the previous year alone, they distributed around 2.1 million pounds of food, a testament to their efficiency and dedication to improving the lives of families in need.

In addition to the hands-on assistance provided by JCP&L volunteers, the FirstEnergy Foundation has also shown significant support for the food pantry’s initiatives. Just this year, they have generously contributed over $15,000 in grant money to bolster the food pantry’s efforts, allowing them to continue their important work in the community.

Together, the hard work of volunteers and the financial support from the FirstEnergy Foundation play a crucial role in addressing food insecurity and uplifting families across the areas we serve.
